Del Water Gap puts on a colorful performance with a range of lights making up an ethereal glow around each musician, Why Try Magazine chose to attend with friends in the pit while photographing the concert to the side of them. To photograph Del Water Gap in the cozy venue room of Ventura Music Hall was to live on the sidelines, learning to appreciate the profile view and stalking the wires that live on the corners of the stage, out of everyone's way.

Del Water Gap is the creative project of Samuel Holden Jaffe, a musician and producer located in New York City, but watching the performance of him with his touring band. you wouldn't think twice to assume Del Water Gap is each artists passion project, putting their entire being into each song.

Jaffe has a strong set of vocals on and off record, the songs are one of a kind live, drifting slightly out of familiarity when being performed. Jaffe brings a powerful energy. dancing across the stage while holding notes, seeming almost like a bird trying to escape a cage, not a single foot of stage left untouched, like he was born for a bigger stage than what he is currently confined to.

Our favorite live performances were of songs "Perfume" and "Ode to a Conversation Stuck in Your Throat" which, when announced, received uproarious applause from everyone, being Del Water Gaps most famous song.

The latest release is his self-titled 12 track album, which came out on on October 8th, 2021, along with a cover of the classic Avril Lavigne song, "Complicated", which was released on March 23rd, 2022.

Del Water Gap is currently on tour in the United States. opening for Maggie Rogers now through March 5th.
